Welcome to the Woodley Pilot Light Trust Website

Caring for our community

Today our lives are run at such a hectic speed, and often we live in communities with little local extended family.

There is much evidence that healthy relationships, and a sense of personal well-being are core to a healthy society. We seek to play our part in East Reading and Wokingham District in helping support a healthy society underpinned with strong relationships in the family and across the community.

The free support we offer is in a number of specific areas:

  • Counselling – Do you have worries and personal or relationship problems and feel you have no-one to turn to? We can provide counselling to help you find ways of dealing with these problems
  • Woodley Food Store - This is an emergency Food Bank for people in a time of crisis.
  • REinspired-Woodley – This provides innovative units on Christianity for Religious Education sessions in Woodley schools

Note: we are no longer running the debt advice service. For debt advice, contact either

Christian against Poverty: 0800 328 0006 or 01274 760 720

Or Reading Frontline: 0118 956 9300

We have contacts with many other local support organisations, so if your need does not fall within our support areas, we may be able to put you in touch with another group locally which can help.  The Community Activities page lists activities run or supported by local Christian groups.
We aim to provide a good service in all the above areas. But in the event of a problem arising in the delivery of any of our services, we do welcome any feedback or comments. Please speak to the employee or volunteer who is serving you. But if this does not lead to a satisfactory outcome and you wish to make a complaint, please see our  Complaints procedure for what to do next.
